NORTHSTOWE PHASE 2B

Arc are appointed by Keepmoat Homes to provide landscape design services for phase 2b of the new town at Northstowe in Cambridgeshire. Working closely with architects Boon Brown and planning consultants Luken Beck, the scheme developed in consultation with the urban design team at Homes England. The reserved mattes application was approved in 2021 and Arc were responsible for the design of public realm including the streetscape, mews courtyards, parks and gardens and continue their involvement into the detailed design / tender stages.

Following a Design Code phase 2b includes two linear parks and the first phase of the town centre public square. Arc have promoted green infrastructure through integrated opportunities for play throughout the public realm as well as developing a planting strategy which includes edible plants along with a focus on promoting wildlife. Sustainable drainage is an important element of the project with swales, rain gardens and permeable paving integrated throughout the scheme.
